When you get a pool, the immediate shock is the cost to just maintain it. From electricity to additional water to a host of pool chemicals that you never heard of, pools can suddenly become an expensive luxury. When I first got mine, I was in the pool store every couple days fending off algae and trying to get my water to its proper PH, each time spending $50 a pop. It took a few months, a pool class, a book, and alot of Internet surfing, but eventually, I figured out how to maintain everything cheaply. Here's some quick hints on cheaply maintaining your pool:
