I have been writing for some time that the death of cable companies will come when premium services like HBO and Showtime start offering their shows via an online subscription. HBO announced today the availability of HBO-Go, an online streaming of many of their hit shows and movies. But if you are clicking on a new browser tab to sign up, you'll want to know about a not-so-little catch.

I've always lived in nice places and not just because I like a good address or a little beauty in my life - but because it saves money. If you don't like where you live - you end up wanting to get out of there and once you step out your front door you're bound to spend money from the minute you get in your car and turn on the ignition. You have a four year old and a toddler with another one on the way and you've outgrown your two bedroom condo.  As your husband and you start dreaming of your first house, you think about Kindergarten fast approaching.  You know exactly where you want to live: in the best school district in the county.  It's a picture perfect vision with only one very big problem:  the price of area homes is 30% higher than where you live now.  You do the math and the extra $100,000 in mortgage and taxes will cost you over $600 a month.  Money that you really can't afford.  Buying a house is going to be tough enough, but this would be finanical suicide.
