4) Hotel Direct Deals: Check out hotel websites for deals and freebies. Get a separate email account and sign up for your favorite chain plans. Often times hotels will have special deals (such as stay two nights get the third free) that will make them the lowest cost provider. Also when you book through a hotel directly, you can get upgrades and freebies. The one market that I never, ever bother to book through a travel site is Las Vegas. I have never seen an online rate that comes close to what the hotel will send you if you join their email list and if you gamble a little, you will get sent offers that can’t be touched from the casino (MGM Mirage Players Club, etc.).
